Amla and cholesterol

Amla and cholesterol

Have high levels of cholesterol could be a warning in your health and amla (through Amalaki Juice) will help you to solve it.

What is Cholesterol?

Cholesterol is an essential waxy substance your body needs to build cells and make vitamins and hormones. However, too much cholesterol can be harmful, and it is important to understand where cholesterol comes from and how it can impact your health.

Sources of cholesterol

Cholesterol comes from two sources. The liver produces all the cholesterol the body needs, and the remainder is from foods containing animal products such as meat, poultry, and dairy produce. Saturated and trans fats found in these foods can cause the liver to produce more cholesterol than it usually would, potentially resulting in an unhealthy cholesterol level.

Additionally, tropical oils like palm oil, palm kernel oil, and coconut oil contain saturated fat that can raise the bad cholesterol levels. These oils are commonly found in baked foods. When the amount of cholesterol in the blood increases, it increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart disease and stroke.

Two varieties of cholesterol exist:

– LDL cholesterol, sometimes known as “bad” cholesterol.

– High-density lipoproteins (HDL), also referred to as “good” cholesterol

Ranges and levels

Adults are regarded to have healthy total cholesterol levels if they fall below 200 mg/dL.

200 to 239 mg/dL is considered to be borderline high.

A value of 240 mg/dL or higher is regarded as high.

Less than 100 mg/dL of LDL cholesterol is ideal.

For those who are in good health, 100-129 mg/dL is fine; however, those who have heart disease or risk factors for heart disease should be concerned.

The borderline high is 130–159 mg/dL.

High levels of 160–189 mg/dL are considered.

A very high level is 190 mg/dL or greater.

It is best to keep HDL levels high. A value of 60 mg/dL or greater for HDL levels is ideal.

A significant risk factor for heart disease can be a level that is lower than 40 mg/dL.

A borderline low value ranges from 41 mg/dL to 59 mg/dL.

Does Amla prevent high cholesterol?

According to the research written up in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine journal, supplementing with Amla extract standardized for polyphenols and omega-3 ALA can considerably lower cholesterol levels.

Amla’s vitamin C content is excellent for the wellness of your heart. It makes your heart’s arteries stronger and thicker. It is very crucial for patients who have high amounts of harmful cholesterol.
